Petrified wood is a fossil. It forms when plant material is buried by sediment and protected from decay by oxygen and organisms, it is then replaced with different types of stone and silica. Every piece is different colors and some you can see the growth rings still inside. So with this one of a kind piece you can have your own fossilized piece of wood to call your own. This is a piece that we cut and shaped/polished then set in silver by hand.
It is a beautiful light blond coloring with the growth rings inside. A light tan/blond color that will go with most anything. We cut and cabbed this stone ourselves. Alan set it in a flat sterling silver bezel and added a swath of bead to one side. He then added a hammered silver band on the back. A one of a kind piece from start to finish made by us in our studio.
